Professor Mac McKerral is the Journalism Unit coordinator in the School of Journalism & Broadcasting at Western Kentucky University.
He is a past national president of the Society of Professional Journalists and a recipient of SPJ’s Wells Key, the society’s highest honor.
He has been a journalist and journalism educator since 1980 and has worked as a reporter, city editor, managing editor and editor in Illinois, Florida, Indiana and New York.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education/History from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois.
